Grieving is a process of learning to adapt to the new situation.

There’s an empty space where before there was a person who was part of your life and it is both sad and difficult adjusting to this change. While you’re going through the pain, it’s difficult to believe that you’ll ever enjoy life again. During this journey you’ll experience a variety of changing emotions, such as guilt, anger and depression. The strength of these emotions and the speed at which they change may make you feel helpless and confused.

At this time, you may feel aimless and unable to concentrate or sleep. You may not even feel like eating. These symptoms can often be worse if your relationship with the person you have lost was a difficult one that caused mixed emotions of both love and resentment – the feelings of guilt may become overwhelming.

It is very important that you have someone to talk to so that you don’t ‘bottle things up’. It is quite normal to want to go over things many times in order to come to terms with them. During this period, it can be difficult to even think of yourself and how your are going to move forward in your own life.

How Can I Help?

This therapy helps you to understand and address the anxiety, insomnia, deep sadness and depression, and other symptoms of grieving, as well as reducing feelings of guilt and blame. It can also help you to begin to move forward with your own goals – to live your life again and to learn to enjoy yourself once more without feeling guilty.
